Please recommend your baby carrier
I'm looking for something that is lightweight and easy to get on/off. I did a little bit of research - some carriers can cause hip dysplasia?? What should I look for when buying one? Also, how much time per day can an infant be in the carrier?
TIA

There's no limit to how often any baby can be worn. We enjoyed the Tula and it's super easy to get on and off. I was actually stopped by strangers a couple times who commented how quick I got my DS up.

Both my girls has hip dysplasia. I used a Moby when they were teeny (not the easiest to get on but with a little practice it's quick) and an ergo for a long time. Still use the ergo occasionally with my 20 month old. As far as their hips, just look for something that supports them knee to knee so their hips are supported and legs aren't dangling at all.

Re: Please recommend your baby carrier
I have two connectas - one regular cotton one and one made for summer. I LOVE them. They don't have a padded waistband so they are super easy to take on and off and can roll into practically nothingness to throw in a diaper bag. The baby sits in a w shape so it prevents hip dysplacia. Connectas are not sold at big box stores in The USA. Smaller boutiques have them, or directly from their website (England).
You may want to find a local babywesring group and try on some to see what you like. Some moms are certified by a babywearinng league and can answer your concerns and show you what to specifically look for when wearing your baby.

I have the ergo 360 and I absolutely love it!!! Easy to get on and when wearing on your front they sit like they are in an infant swing so it's comfortable for the hips.

I have an ergo original and a beco gemini and like them both. The beco you can use from 7lbs up. The ergo is 12lb without the newborn insert.

I used the original Ergo- I used it from the time dd was two months old until she was two years old. There was no time limit to how long she could be in the carrier.

Another vote for Tula. So easy to use plus they come in cute designs.

Beco Gemini. It's very comfortable and can be used from 7 lbs without needing an infant insert.
