Disney Question
Anyone have older girls (mine are 7 and 9)? I'm wondering if your older girls still want to dress up at Disney. We are surprising our kids with a Disney trip in less than a month and I'm not sure if I should pack Disney costumes for the older girls or if I should order something Disney-ish that isn't a costume (skirts or something) for them. We're eating at 1900 Park Fare and Akershus so we are doing princess things and I'm not sure if older girls dress or not. I know it is going to be incredibly hot, so costumes seem like a horrible choice, but I've seen kids in them every time we have gone no matter what the weather.
ETS: Did you feel like a lot of the older girls were in costume or costume-y type outfits? I don't remember from last time we were there. Thanks!

Re: Disney Question
Mine is 9, and I always sew or buy boutique type Disney themed dresses/outfits. You can find many on Etsy. Not necessarily princess dresses, but she has worn them (cotton type inspired dresses, not Disney Store dresses). Earlier this month she wore a dress that I made to look like the Splash Mountain cast members uniforms. It turned out super cute, and we scored a free fast pass for the ride. She did the Bibbidi Boutique on the Disney Cruise earlier this month and loved it. She wore a Biscotti fancy dress though, not a princess dress though.

Re: Disney Question
I don't have my own kids that age, but their are some really cute etsy people who make adorable tanks for those of us that can no longer wear or no longer want to wear princess dresses

Disney Question
Mine is 8 and she still loves to dress up - both at home and at the park.

Re: Disney Question
We just came back with our DD who is 9. She did want a princess makeover but did not want to dress up. My observation was that it was mostly younger girls who were dressed up, but if your girls want to I am sure they won't be the only ones of that age! My DD and I talked about "Disney inspired" outfits that were fun but a little more mature, and there are fun ideas on Pinterest for teens/adults which you can modify. She is not really into clothes and in the end she just wore regular outfits.
I felt like it was about 50/50 for dressed up vs. non-dressed up. We ate at Akershus and Cinderella's Royal Table and my DD didn't say anything about not being dressed up, other than expressing sympathy for those kids as it was mid June and HOT!! I bet you see more kids dressed up in the cooler months.

Disney Question
DD is 9 and asked to dress up again this year. I thought we were done with this, but she asked to be Princess Jasmine.
