need some advice on traveling kids and car seats
Ok so in November we will be going to FLorida, Disney half the time then my inlaws a few days. We will be renting a car. I have a 6 yr old, 3 yr old, and an infant (will be 6 months at the time of travel).
The 6 yr old is in a booster. We were planning on packing that (or possibly buying the bubble bum). Now the 3 yr old. Shes in a 5 pt harness, high booster but thinking about getting a convertible to leave at my in laws, and this way she can use it, my baby can eventually use and my nephew when they go down. Which brand do you suggest tot ravel with?
The baby, I will bring the infant seat, do I really need the base, or is using the seat belt to secure it totally fine? it would just save some room packing.

I'm not sure about your first question but you can definitely leave the infant base at home. I would just practice a baseless install before you go.

Sorry. Which brand convertible seat is good to travel with. Light enough not bulky for a 3 yr old.

There is a good site for car seat advice, csftl.org. I read some travel advice on their site and facebook page. We got the Graco Contender for our 3 year old to bring to Florida and use afterwards. It worked out pretty well. If you use it on the plane forward facing, ask for a seat belt extender or flip the seat belt buckle upside down. My husband couldn't unbuckle it and they had to cut the plane's seat belt. Also, I would practice installing any new seat before you go. DH had a tough time installing and needed me to push down on it while he tightened (couldn't get a tight fit by himself). If I were travelling alone, I don't know if I'd be able to install it well.
