What to send?
A close friends brother died tragically in a car accident. They live out of state. What should I send?
They're not Jewish so food for a shiva call is out.

Oh no. Im so sorry. Ill keep them in my prayers. Even though they arent Jewish it is still okay to send food. Maybe a gc to a restaurant close to them for take out. A nice floral arrangement or plant is nice too.

Flowers or food. I sent a cold cut platter to a friend when her dad passed as I knew there would be tons of people in and out. She really appreciated it

Thanks ladies. They're originally from Miami so they've been there this week. They are just getting home to VA where they just moved. I sent a cookie basket from cookies by design in a sympathy theme.

That's perfect. Some bring edible - especially a dessert is always a good choice. Even though there's no shiva, there will be company at the house.
