Question (and update) - Friend who is a recovering alcoholic and having them over
Hi all.
Update on my friend. She is out of rehab and doing well. Been in there over a month. Went to her sisters for 2 weeks and is now "home" in NY. I invited her over to my house on Tuesday for lunch and to sit by the pool.
Now, I will not drink at all. Obviously I have ice tea, soda etc for us both. I wont drink at all.
Here is the question. She isn't even out of rehab 30 days. I have a beautiful bar FULL of liquor when you walk in my house. Its a show piece when you walk in. We like to have it open and show it off.
Is it in bad form to leave it open? Its not EASY to close, but I can. When its closed its solid wood and you cant see inside of it.
Does it matter?
Is it "not nice"?
I know she is an adult and will be faced with these things. She certainly wont get anything from me or offered by me.
But is it bad form, not nice to have it open?
I wanted to get opinions from people who might have experience.
Thanks.

Close it, why tempt her?

Close it
Obviously she is going to have to learn to live with temptations but it's really soon and with in an intimate setting with just you guys, it would be nice if you to just make it easier on her right now.

That's what I thought. Thanks for the opinions.
