A few Kalahari questions

We are going to Kalahari soon and have a few questions:

-Do I need to bring all 3 puddle jumpers? I see there are life vests there. What do most kids there wear?

-The rooms have a fridge, right? Planning on bringing juice boxes and some snacks?

-Is there a safe in the rooms? Not a necessity, just curious.

-We don't have to carry our wallets around, right? They can just charge it to the room?

-Any other tips? Advice?

TIAChat Icon

ETA: what about towels? Do they provide for the water park?

Also, is there indoor/outdoor pools there?

You can bring the puddle jumpers or use the vests provided. I brought DD's because I knew she'd be more comfortable in it and she's used to it.

The rooms have a fridge, yes

Yes there is a safe in the closet.

Everything can be charged to the room- your wrist band will be activated with charging privileges for the adults- so you don't need to carry a thing.

You will love it- it was awesome and even the adults had a great time. TThere are some fun slides and rides for adults too!

I can't wait to go back

This... except I forgot my DS' puddle jumper and he wore the vest they had there, it was fine. DS had a good time. I think 1 night for us there was more than enough.

Interesting you say this, I was pricing this for the fall and was wondering if two nights was overkill. When you did one night did you do do the waterpark both days? Tell me more why one night was "more than enough" Chat Icon

We got there around 12 noon and were in the water park for the rest of the day until dinner time... went back to the room showered/changed/went to dinner... after dinner we were in the arcade. Went back again to the water park the next morning before going home. I just thought we spent enough time there to do everything (DS is almost 4 so he went on anything he met the height restrictions for) That's just my opinion though!

Yes, bring snacks and juice boxes. We liked to eat breakfast at the buffet. Make sure to get the mango smoothie.

-Is there a safe in the rooms? Not a necessity, just curious. Yes

-We don't have to carry our wallets around, right? They can just charge it to the room?
Yes

-Any other tips? Advice?
I had a groupon which gave us arcade credits. That was great.

A few Kalahari questions

I have a couple of questions, too! Dophinsbaby, we're always on the same wavelength.
I need to plan ahead and make sure this is going to work for me.

has anyone stayed in the bunk bed rooms?
Can you control your own climate in the room? (I need it freezing)
Is the indoor water park air-conditioned? If not, are there cool spots for me to go?
Are the rooms relatively near the water park? aka Is there a lot of walking?

You can control your own climate in the room.

The water park is warm. We went in April - so it was still chilly out - and the water park was warm.

Our room was a bit of a hike from the waterpark. Obviously some rooms are closer but, it can be a long haul.

They do provide towels (they are kind of small but you can take as many as you like).

They have an indoor/outdoor hot tub and were in the process of building a few things outdoors which looked like they could be ready for the summer (we went in April and you could tell what they were - a pool with basketball hoops and a pool with a bar).

The water park is HOT and humid. You'd have to step out into the arcade area to cool off. That was freezing when we came out wet.
It wasn't a ton of walking for us from room to park but it really depends on where your room is
Yes you can control your own AC in the room. It's a brand new hotel with all the amenities

Thanks everyone for all the info. So helpful!

I have one last question although it's probably stupidChat Icon.

For the waterpark, did you wear a cover-up over your bathing suit? I might scare people walking around in just my bathing suit Chat Icon so I was planning on wearing a cover-up. DH thinks I am nuts with being in and out of the water and says I should just wear the bathing suit alone. I hate my post baby body Chat Icon but also want to be comfortable. What did everyone else do?

Do what YOU are comfy in. I saw everything from bikinis to shorts to cover ups, you name it.

I wore a bikini but with a tank top over it. I went on rides and in the water like that. I was not 100% comfy in a bikini in a family setting like that plus i had my period (YAY!) and was bloated and felt gross.

What about wearing a tankini or other kind of swimsuit with more coverage so you feel less self conscious, you know?

You can totally keep a cover up on though, unless you want to ride a crazy water slide, where it might get in the way.
Most of the time you'll be chasing after the kids in ankle deep water so wearing a cover up is fine. You will get wet-splashed by things etc, but you won't be swimming laps, kwim?

I just bought myself a swim romper, and LOVE it!! Provides coverage, and isn't skin tight. It has built in bottoms and is made of swimsuit material. 60% off at Sears. A Shore Fit is the brand!

Ugh sorry the pic is HUGE!!! They have a few prints
