white noise issue...
So, I'm starting to think about the transition from Rock and Play to crib and I want to start by moving the RNP to his bedroom first. He's 5 months now, and I'll probably start soon bc he is totally outgrowing the RNP. My issue is that he needs white noise to sleep. How do I hear him waking up (for his paci/late night feeding etc) when I have the white noise drowning out the monitor? I HAVE to have the monitor on him bc he DOES sleep with a blanket (one of those muslin ones, but still need to watch him) Any suggestions? Do I have to kill the white noise?

We still use a white noise machine for DD - she's 2 and I can hear her over it when she wakes up or cries. The only downside to having the monitor on is you have to also listen to it

DD had a white noise machine and trust me, I heard her over it. She was loud when she woke up in the night! And yes, the downside is you hear it all night too on the monitor. I ended up needing it to sleep myself, when I'd never needed that before! LOL

Both my dds have the Marpac dohm in their rooms. And trust me, you will hear them over the monitor. You will hear them even without a monitor.

I have a dohm white noise machine in both my room and the nursery and have no trouble hearing them over the monitor.
