Question about waiting on line at Disney
We are going next week for our first family trip. 
So when we wait in line, will all three of us have to be in line the entire time, or can one of us stay while the other two wander till the line is shorter? I am thinking I would be happy to be the one who waits (I'll make sure I load up my Kindle with library books) but I want to know what'll be allowed.

Most of the time you all need to wait, but check out the below. It depend on the setup of the line.

Honestly, to avoid pi$$ing anyone off I'd make sure you all wait in line otherwise it can be construed as line cutting. Aside from that, the way Disney does their lines more often than not you wouldn't be able to meet up easily until the end and I doubt they will allow that. Unfortunately, part of Disney is standing on line.

We don't do it regularly unless it is to go to the bathroom. I personally hate waiting in line so we never get on anything with more than a 30 minute wait but 20 min is more my max. We do most of our riding in the morning and then use FP for after 11am.
I once tried to save 5 minutes by letting DH go into Small World while I went to park the stroller. This lady started screaming at me because she thought I was trying to cut the line. She was walking towards the end of the line as was I.

If you look at Disney Junkies or DisBoards you will see that people get ridiculously pissed of when people do that. I kind of understand their point, but not completely. But, I guess few things in life piss me off THAT much!

Those DisBoards people are HARDCORE!!!! They act like they are heirs to the Disney fortune and must defend it at all costs!

We just came back from being in Disney for a week- do yourself a favor and make sure all of your party is with you. We witnessed 4 separate arguments about "cutting", 1 resulting in the families involved being removed.

Same here, and only if it is a true emergency. I'm not hardcore, but it kinda pisses me off too when people pass me on a line.
