EZ Pass question

I'm going on a mini road trip tomorrow morning and need to add myself to my new EZ Pass account. I've never had one before, so I'm trying to set it up for the first time.

It said my license plate was associated with another account, and I had totally forgotten that I used my ex's EZ Pass once about two years ago. I texted him a little while ago to explain and ask if he could take me off of his account, but I haven't heard back and I'm not feeling too hopeful that he will.

Does anyone know if there's anyway to disassociate myself with his account on my own? I'd really hate to never be able to have my own EZ Pass ??

If I'm not mistaken, you don't even have to put a license plate number with the account. For example, if you don't own a car you can get an EZ Pass and use it in rental cars.

This happened to me when I commuted to college. I used my parents' hand me down car and my dad had originally registered the car to his work EZ Pass account because they covered his tolls. Even though he no longer used the car, it was a nightmare to change it so I just registered it under my moms car.

This was a long time ago, so things may have changed but good luck. If anyone close to you has a car not linked to an EZ pass I'd try that. You can link it to your cc and request multiple tags.

Call them and give them the sob story about your ex. They were able to remove me from my exs because I basically almost cried. It was a pain in the butt but they did it for me.

they're a pain in the butt.
I'm still under my maiden name because they require so much to change your name (marriage cert, drivers license, etc etc).
when I changed my name everywhere else it never took as much proof as it does for a stupid easy pass
