Return of Escrow Check
Does anyone know why I would get a check for "return of escrow"?
We transfered my in laws house into our names in the spring. Now I got a check almost for the amount of the monthly escrow amount from our mortgage.
It came with no letter to explain, just a check, so no number.
My inlaws I don't think even had an escrow account anymore, so it's not a refund for them.

Sometimes when there is an overage in your escrow acct, you get $$ back...
Truthfully, I would call your mortgage company and verify it...b/c if its a mistake you will be short later.
But, I hope its not!!

We got money back from our escrow twice because they overestimated the taxes.

That was my first reaction too!!
I am going to call Tuesday...but I did check the website for our mortgage & the amounts being taken & the current balance in the escrow account seem to add up OK...but I will check anyhow!
