Driving with baby
Am I the only one terrified of driving long distances alone with my dd? I don't know if its where I live but I see an accident a day around here and we were recently in a minor accident ourselves. Today I have to drive about an hour or so alone with dd and I'm so nervous. Anyone else feel this way? What do you do to relax?

I was the same way with my first. It's normal to feel that way. Just tell yourself everything will be ok. Most likely DD will fall asleep in the car anyway.

I felt like that with DS when he was younger. I was always worried he'd cry or drop something and what do I do? He was fine and to this day still loved riding in the car (he's almost 3).

Same here. I was so afraid to drive with my first and I am not normally a scared driver at all. I got over it with time, especially once she wasn't a tiny newborn and had better head control.

The only way to get over the fear is to just do it. The more you drive with your DC the easier it is and the less you worry about it.

I'm not scared because of the thought of an accident but I'm scared thinking of the endless crying that could happen

I was nervous the first couple of times I drove with dd- eventually you get used to it--my dd has always loved music so I play music for her any time we are in the car- in two year there were two times I had to pull over because of her crying--when it happen I just pulled over in a safe place and comforted her- as an infant dd generally fell asleep in the car.

Thanks. My fear isn't her crying or whether she likes it (she needs to deal) but accidents because people drive like lunatics.
We made it to Queens and back unscathed!

I don't like driving with DD any further than I have to, even if it's just a few miles. Sometimes I just have to deal with the reality that we need to take all the precautions we can and live our lives. The more you do it, the more you'll get used to it.

Driving with baby
I dreaded driving with my DS for the first 21 months of his life since he would literally scream the whole time. It was terrible. In the beginning, I was nervous about him being in the car, but I got over that quickly!
