Admission interview for Christian/Catholic school
The school that I am applying to for my daughter (kindergarten) has an admission interview as part of the application review. Both parents and my daughter are required to attend. This is really stressing me out because I am really bad with these things and I don't know what to expect.
Can anybody that has gone though an admission interview (especially if it was for a Christian or Catholic school) advise what it was like. How long, what type of questions etc? I know it will be different for different schools but I am trying to get an idea. TIA!

I didn't but my goddaughter did (for a school in Queens). My friend said basically the principal met with the 3 of the them (her, DH, and her daughter) and asked her a few questions-how old are you? Do you have brothers and sisters, etc? Then she asked if she could talk to her by herself. She said ok.
She said they went into the next room but the door was open so she could see them and she asked some more questions while her daughter played-do you like yo gabba gabba, etc? What do you like to eat? Stuff that was on the application but I guess she wanted to see how she responded. She then took her into the classroom and she played for a few minutes. This was for pre-k.

When I signed up my daughter for pre-K at Catholic school, all I had to do was fill out a form and write a check. I can't imagine that it would be too much of a stressful interview. It's probably much like the previous poster said.

We interviewed at two schools (son is going into nursery level) and both schools were more interested in what we were able to bring to the school community more than anything else. At both schools, my son spent an hour with children his age and both times, he was taken to a private room and tested. I wasnt there so im not too sure what was asked. They were also very interested in the types of activities my son was involved in.

My son did that for K as well. They ask basic questions and they want to see where they are academically - do they know their letters, how high can they count, can they write/spell/read, can they stand on one foot, jump, etc. They just want to see where they're at.
