Disney Dining: Please Critique: Updated in last post
Can someone give me some opinions on which meals to do at Disney? I have 3 girls (9,7,2)...
Day 1: Check in Dinner at 1900 Park Fare
Day 2: Hollywood Studios Breakfast at Hollywood and Vine *Lunch at either Mama Melrose's or 50s Prime Time
Day 3: Magic Kingdom Lunch at BOG Late Dinner at Crystal Palace
Day 4: Epcot Breakfast at Chef Mickeys Dinner at Akershus
Day 5: Magic Kingdom Breakfast at BOG
Day 6: Animal Kingdom Dinner at Tusker House
Day 7: Check out
What would you keep, drop, change?? Any opinions? Thanks!

Maybe I'm the only one who thought BOG was a total bust....? But "I" would skip BOG if given the chance again. There wasn't anything special to it...? Just my experience though...

I personally would only do one sit down a day. 2 is really cutting into your park time.
I like lunch at BOG, Dinner wasn't that great IMO. Pretty overpriced and tiny portions.

I wouldn't do BOG twice. There are so many fantastic restaurants. Check out 'Ohana at the Polynesian resort. Allears.net has menus for each restauarant, so you can see what they serve.

We totally aren't leave the park to eat people, so that really limits a lot of our choices. we wanted to do ohana, but time wise it didn't work for us.

For HS I would pick Prime Time, but Sci Fi is also good for kids.
I love BOG for lunch, but I'm not sure I'd pay for the breakfast there.
In MK another good option is the Plaza Restaurant. I think the food is good and the location on Main St is very nice. Last time we went we had a lovely view of the castle.
In AK, the Yak and Yeti quick serve is great for lunch.
I personally didn't love the food at Akershus, but I'm sure you're going for the princess aspect so that part of it was nice.

We did lunch at BOG and it was just ok. I was expecting a lot more, but it's just quick service. I wouldn't do a breakfast and a lunch there.
We really liked the Plaza Restaurant for a sit down. It's a small restaurant, but it's cute and the food was good.
The lunch at Akershus was delicious and the princesses were great. They took all the kids on a parade around the restaurant.
I really liked the food for lunch at Tusker House the best out of all the buffets we did. And the characters were very funny and engaging. And again, the kids did a parade around the restaurant with the characters.

I think if you're gonna do BOG twice... do either breakfast or lunch (those are both "quick service" modes) and then do a dinner there. Dinner is sit-down, with waitress service, and its a completely different feel than lunch (we did both lunch and dinner last year). PLUS at dinner, you get the chance to meet and get a picture with the Beast after you're done eating. we did breakfast at tusker house last trip and really liked it... we also really liked Garden Grill at EPCOT- with Farmer Mickey, Farmer pluto, chip and dale. its nice bc its family style, so you don't have to worry about missing characters while you're at the buffet getting more food

We like 50's Prime time but maybe schedule for dinner. We are usually pretty full after buffet breakfast.
I don't know that you need 2 meals at BOG you can probably replace one with quick service.

Re: Disney Dining: Please Critique
If you are having a late dinner at Crystal Palace for the character aspect, then keep it. However, the food is a buffet and honestly, I think it's one of the worst meals in Disney. If you want a good meal (but no characters), do either Columbia House or Liberty Tree Tavern.
We also did not love the breakfast at BOG. If you are doing a quick service there, you might be better off just grabbing something quick at the old bakery on Main Street (now run by Starbucks). We enjoyed our egg sandwiches from there way more than the BOG breakfast!
ETA: we do enjoy the lunch at BOG and the dinner was ok - not fantastic, but good.

I would only eat at Crystal Palace for the characters. Worst food in Disney, IMO.
BOG I would do once. I enjoyed lunch there.

I agree that you only need to do BOG for one meal and I recommend the dinner. If you can, request the ballroom because it is so beautiful (I think I enjoyed it more than the kids. LOL).

Re: Disney Dining: Please Critique
We are keeping the two BOG for sure...we liked breakfast a lot (and it gets us into the park an hour early) and we want to try lunch. We did dinner in the past so we are trying new things. We are trying to plan it out because we are on the dining plan and want to be sure we don't just waste away our meals. I am going to look at switching Crystal Palace, but we weren't able to get Liberty Tree Tavern. Thanks for the suggestions.

That's a lot of sit down meals, esp the Hollywood studios day. IMHO I would only do one sit down a day and never a breakfast. We like to get in and run around to rides before the lines start, break for lunch then bang out fast passes before we are done for the day.

We like to do breakfasts in the parks - it gets you in early!
But, I don't think I could do a Hollywood and Vine Breakfast followed by a sit down lunch. I'm stuffed after breakfast.

I agree. I would space out the meals at Hollywood Studios.
It's a lot of food & time wasted on eating.

This looks good, BUT, where are you staying? If you are already at the Contemporary for breakfast at Chef Mickey's on Day 4, then OK. However, if you are not at the Contemporary or another monorail resort, I'm not sure I would either get up early enough to get there from another resort, or cut into park time at Epcot because of the time for breakfast. I'm not sure I'm explaining what i mean correctly. For example: if I was staying at AoA and had an 8 am reservation at Chef Mickey - I know my family will not be awake and dressed in enough time to get the bus for a reservation at that hour. If the reservation was at 10 am - I wouldn't want to then spend my day at Epcot because it would be noon by the time I got there and all my morning touring time would be gone. You know where you're staying and can best judge travel time vs. park time with reservation time.

Reservation is at 7:35...we're early risers (I'll be up running by 5 and my kids will be awake by 6, especially since we'll be in the same room)...we are staying at Pop Century, but we're willing to take a cab over if necessary...we liked that we could be at Epcot by opening with a reservation that early.
