Stutter?
My 2.5 yo DS has suddenly started stuttering a few words - is this something to be concerned about or just a passing phase? Not sure if he's doing it on purpose or if theres an actual stutter.
Thanks!

Stutter?
I wouldn't worry just yet. at that age I find their brains are moving way to fast for their mouth to catch up. My DS still does it here and there at 4.

Stutter?
I wouldn't be too concerned. Like alli said, their brains work faster than their mouths sometimes.

Re: Stutter?
Yep DD did this for quite some time. It resolved itself. It's very normal at that age.

Stutter?
Hailey does it sometimes too... i constantly tell her, slow down and think of what you want to say.... and that helps.

Stutter?
Very normal... Dd did it too. She's grown out of it mostly and is almost 4. She does it on occasion when she feels rushed.

Re: Stutter?
My 2.5 year old DD was just evaluated for speech and said there are two different kinds of stuttering at this age.
A stutter where you get stuck on a letter or sound
eg: Da-Da-Da-Da Dad is different than a stutter that just is a series of noncontextual sounds such as
ba da de da Dad.
If it sounds like a single sound over and over, it's something not necessarily signifying an issue, but it could be. If it's a series of sounds it's just part of learning.
