Disney cruise--Dream--updated w new question
I think we are going to book a 3 day Disney cruise on the Dream.
Please tell me about the cruises.
Also what time can you board on the first day and what time to you have to leave on the last day...thanks
Would you do a park the day you disembark since it is early? We would be flying home the next day.

Disney cruise--Dream
we've been on the Disney dream and Disney magic. both ships were great!! the disney cruises are awesome!!! its hard to explain until you've been on one--- but theres just something so special about them! they spoil you with great service, minimal lines to meet the characters, my son LOVED their kids club so DH and i got a few quiet hours while he went there.... their island, Castaway Cay is incredible!! make sure you rent bikes or take a walk out to the other side of the island, on the old runway... really peaceful you can get on i THINK around 11/11:30 in the morning--- you pick an embarkation time when you book it- so it will depend on that. same thing with the last day-- from what i remember, they give you a time that you need to get off the ship. you leave any checked bags outside of your room on the last night, and they take them off the ship for you so you don't have to carry them off the ship. you get them in a baggage claim area...

Disney cruise--Dream
If you search my name, you will find a very in-depth review of the Disney Dream. Great ship, your Port arrival time depends on when you check in. They don't board the ship until 12 or 1230. Disembarkation everyone has to be off the ship by I believe 8:30

8:30 am I assume? I was hoping since it is only three days the last day we could enjoy the ship a while longer

Yes 8:30 am, they have to prep the ship for the other people that will be boarding a few hours later!
I personally wouldn't do a 3 night cruise. I think it's a lot of money for not a lot of time. My minimum would be the 4 night

Well, my only advice would be to fly in the night before, and check in right at your 75 day mark to get the earliest port arrival time (10-10:30am), that way you are one of the first groups to board the ship. I think it's 75 days out. Priority goes to those that have sailed before.

yup.. 8:30/9 AM pretty much everybody has to be off the ship. They start trying to get your off of the ship at like 7AM. They are busy cleaning, cooking, prepping, for the next group that is getting on starting around 11:30/12...

Re: Disney cruise--Dream--updated w new question
Many people do the park on disembarkation day. Just make sure you are off as soon as soon as they announce it, be so you can get to the park at a reasonable time. So that means no checking your luggage the night before. Just walk off with everything. Customs lines are short when you leave as early as you can. I would also skip the breakfast in the main dining rooms at the scheduled times, and opt for the buffet at Cabananas on Deck 10.

Re: Disney cruise--Dream--updated w new question
Yes I would definitely consider doing a park. When we travel to Disney in the morning we always do a park the day we arrive. When we got off of the cruise we rented a car and went to downtown Disney before our evening flight.
