Best way to clean a lovey
Dd carries around a little carter's mermaid with a rattle in it. The tag says surface wash only. I've used dish soap and water a few times but its not doing the trick anymore. Any suggestions how to get it clean for her?

Re: Best way to clean a lovey
we had a carters monkey rattle/lovey and we just threw it in the washing machine. We didnt do it often, and we just hang it to dry, but it was fine

Washing machine. Had no issues. Just didn't put it in the dryer. Dried fast anyway.

This! I wash everything before dd can even touch it. All of those toys say do not submerge in water. They'll be fine. I don't put them in the dryer.

Best way to clean a lovey
Thanks...I guess I'll have to try that. I've been afraid because I don't want to ruin it for her. Why would it say surface wash anyway? Is there a chance of getting mold inside where the rattle is or something?

guess it's because the rattle can break? I might be wrong about this.

This or theres this cotton bag i bought made for washing stuffed animals... i use it to wash my dd teddy bear.
Also i suggest if you can buy backups. I now have 3 of the same bear because he goes everywhere and i dont see her giving him up anytime soon.

Best way to clean a lovey
DS has a carters monkey lovey and I throw it in the washer and dryer often with his regular clothes and have never had an issue. It's almost 4 years old now.

Re: Best way to clean a lovey
My DD has a lovey that she's been sleeping with since she was 7 months old. She will be 3 next month. It also says surface wash, but I've been throwing it in the washer in a lingerie bag and then put in the dryer. No issues. Although I will say it drives me crazy that they make baby stuff that is surface wash only and not technically able to be thrown in the wash! Clearly those designers do not have kids!

I wish I had a backup, but I can't find it anywhere. Its Carters from 2013 so they don't sell them anymore.
