Picky eater
When does a preschooler's picky eating cease becoming a phase, and begins warranting medical attention? Especially that well visits are now a full year apart? I'm becoming increasingly concerned about my daughter's pickiness and continual narrowing of food choices and dwindling quantity of food eaten, yet she is clearly growing. Time to call the doctor?

I think it's fine. Our pedi always said it doesn't matter if they're picky and they eat the same thing all the time. Even if it's only two things. As long as it's healthy. She's clearly growing and healthy. I wouldn't worry.
Heck I'm in my 30s and I'm picky and always have been.

Dd is almost 6 and we are starting to be more open although still very picky lol. I wouldn't worry to much. Dd2 barely eats dinner most nights yet she's still gaining weight. I would say unless she's refusing to eat at all then I'd worry. But she's probably eating more than you realize.

It doesn't hurt to talk to your ped and see if they're could guide you. My sister had made headway with her extremely picky eater at 3!

It can def be a phase. Try to offer a variety of foods as much as possible, even if she keeps choosing the same things. She'll get used to always have different options around and most likely try those other things eventually. DS1 goes through phases like this too and it actually happens when he's with DH more than when he's with me, poor daddy, loll!!!

Re: Picky eater
DD is almost 6 and has been a picky eater all her life. Her choices are getting narrower instead of broader too lately. She no longer eats much meat- at all. But there is not much the Dr could do- short of holding her down and forcing food down her throat. As long as she is growing and healthy it's fine. I'm over 40 and still eat like shitt

I'm happy to hear you say this as my 6 year old is getting more and more picky.
He says his stomach doesn't feel for things that it used to and it's getting really frustrating.
The ped didn't seem to concerned about his eating habits - but, he's been very sensitive to food smells recently so we're working on that.

Does she drink a lot of milks/juices? Some kids fill up on drinks and then don't eat as much as they should

Re: Picky eater
I would just ensure she gets a multivitamin with iron as well as pediasure.
