I didn't want to hijack the other post but I noticed a lot of people gave their young babies almond milk after weaning. Just curious why almond milk vs cow milk? Also has anyone given goat milk?

For us it was a dairy intolerance, so LO wasn't having dairy in any form. That aside, I'm not a big fan of kids or adults drinking cow milk as a big part of their caloric intake or nutrition so the alternative milk was more for hydration and I made sure LO got the necessary good fats and calcium from other sources. LO didn't love non dairy milks so we didn't keep up with that for very long and now just drinks water only.

I gave coconut milk not almond until I made sure she didn't have a nut allergy. But I sort of subscribe to cow milk is for a baby cow. Americans eat soooo much dairy. So we actually try to limit it and when we do use just a little bit.

This. My little guy had a ton of food intolerances when he was first born and thankfully he's outgrown most of them now at 18 months but when he eats too much dairy he gets reflux and breaks out with eczema behind his knees. I didn't feel comfortable giving him cows milk because it can be so tough on little bellies. We choose to do almond milk and I try to make sure he gets calcium protein and fats through other dietary means

We gave (and still give) DD almond milk because she has a dairy allergy.

Dd1 had a milk allergy so we did nondairy milk for her although I tried goat once but she wouldn't touch it. She outgrew the allergy around age 3 but we still but almond milk out of habit. We don't drink much milk as a family so I only buy one kind.
