My sweet newborn has turned into a screaming all night
cranky all day newborn. DB is on sim sensitive formula, my milk is drying up because is refusing to latch. What can I do for DB? Spoke with doctor but her suggestions are not working  Any advice?

How old? Sounds like colic.
DD was like that and nothing helped.
Nothing.
Just time.
Maybe get the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD- he has some great tips, but he also explains why they are screaming so much- which doesn't help, but it was good to know why.

i agree with the previous poster - it takes time.
how old is your little one? Have they tested him for a milk protein allergy? that can cause fussiness

I agree. My DD would scream all day and night until we realized she had a milk protein allergy. She was put on Alimentum and was a totally different baby.

We also had to go the Alimentum route for both kids- made a world of difference.

This! My DS screamed 24/7. the only thing that helped was time. And I have to say he turned into an amazing sleeper. But that wasn't until after 1.

We needed special formula for both my kids. Changed them overnight. Check to see if it's an allergy.

DB is not yet 3 weeks. How do they test for milk allergy? Think I'll call the doctor tomorrow. I hope something can be done , hate seeing baby so upset

Milk protein allergy they will test stool for blood. You will have to bring a dirty diaper

At 3 weeks old she may just be "waking up" and adjusting to the world. It's very possible it's just a normal phase and the baby will calm down soon.

Is the baby uncomfortable during of after bottles? It could be reflux even if he isn't spitting up a lot. My DD was like that also. At first we thought reflux so we treated that. It helps some but the screaming continued. Around 2 months I noticed blood in her stool and we found out she had a milk protein allergy. I would definitely discuss it with your ped. Hope he feels better!

This. Both kids went through this stage from like 4-8 weeks old. I tried everything but the only thing that helped was time.

I agree. DD was tested for everything, switched formulas, meds for reflux. And nothing changed
She most certainly was not this BRAND NEW BABY that everyone speaks of after switching formula or going on reflux meds. She was exactly the same- screaming, crying mess.
She tested NEGATIVE for milk protein allergy too.
I watched the happiest baby on the block DVD and the Dr in it explains that the first 3 months of a baby's life is known as the "4th trimester". The fact of the matter is, their digestive systems, neurological systems , etc are not ready to be out in the world yet, that they could really use another trimester in utero, but they run out of room and the conditions in the womb deteriorate so they have to come out. And for some babies those first 3 months out of the womb are a very hard transition.
Sometimes nothing helps. Truly nothing.

since the baby is only 3 weeks old, it is probably just an adjustment. but it cant hurt to talk to the pediatrician about testing for a milk protein allergy.

This... personally i wouldnt just throw my hands in the air before trying everything...
Does your dc seem like they are gassy? In pain? Spitting up? Arching back? Wigging around?
My dd would go on crying jags. Was clearly in pain and uncomfortable. Finally after lots of different trials of formula and meds, i finally figured out she has a dairy protein intolerance (not allergy has same symptoms just no blood in stool) it meant she could not digest a milk protein and she had a mild case of reflux. She was put on zantac and alimentum. Within 1 week i had a brand new baby. She started to sleep in long stretches. She was happy throughout the day and napped.

First I would have the diaper tested for a allergy
After that a diff formula may help
Gas drops before and after bottle. Bike kicks.
Frequent burps
My son was colic and screamed all day every day for 5 months
Could be that. Could simply be A 3 week old
Hang in there!

And for what it's worth,we tried a few formulas with my son until we found the right one and the similac sensitive made him
Worse!

Agree with this.
Have poop diaper tested BUT just FYI those tests are not 100% accurate so just because they test negative doesnt mean there isnt an intolerance. My dd always tested negative, we even went to a pediatric GI. But changing formula a few times Gerber Good Start helped a little but after a week she was back to waking and crying (PS this started at 4 weeks) I changed to Alimentum slowly (i mixed formulas, it took a few days) because Alimentum has a funny taste so just a straight change they may not take to it.
Gas drops
Burp in between an ounce or 2 of bottle
Bicycle legs to relieve gas
