Babysitting question
My dh's cousin (who we are very close with. She is also dd2's Godmother) will be watching dd2 on Friday night while we attend a charity event. Dd2 is 3 mos old. Dh's cousin is in her mid-20's and has a full-time job. Do I pay her cash by the hour like I would a sitter, or do I get a gift card more like a thank-you (I was thinking $50)?

Babysitting question
I'd pay her cash, unless you think she won't accept it. In that case I'd do a gift card.

Re: Babysitting question
Do you think she will take the cash? I know my kids godparents wouldn't. I'd probably do a giftcard.

Re: Babysitting question
I wouldn't take cash from family, especially family I was close to. I would do a giftcard.

Babysitting question
When we have family watch DS for an event or date night we never pay. They wouldn't accept even a gift card

Re: Babysitting question
Since she obviously has a strong connection to dd2 and has a full time job I would not pay her. It would be another thing if it was a teenage cousin

agree, esp since she is the godmother.

Babysitting question
My dd's godmother (my bff) watched her for a couple hours a few weeks ago and I honestly didn't even think to pay her. We brought her home dinner but I didn't offer her any money. She is in her 30's and has a high paying job.
I don't have a godchild yet, but when I do I would never in a million years accept anything for watching them.
So, I likely wouldn't pay her at all. Maybe get a bottle of wine she likes if you really want to give her something

Babysitting question
I would get her a giftcard and sign if from her Goddaughter thanking her for being a great Godmama and taking such good care of her! How could she refuse that??
