MNSSHP

Did anyone do MNSSHP last year (2015)...I have read a bunch of horrible reviews...mostly from people who did it in the past and feel it has changed a lot and isn't worth the money. We're trying to decide whether to do it or just forget about it...Any opinions??

I missed it last year (pregnant), but did it the previous 2 years. It was great (better than even going to MK for the day). We had most rides available (the ones that closed we did first) & zero lines.

Be interested to hear if it changed: we go to Disney in September specifically for the party.

We went last october and it GREAT! My kids loved it. The trick or treating was so much fun and the dance parties were so cool! My kids still talk about the parade and villains show. It was definitely worth it to me.

Did you go on a sold out night? A lot of the reviews talked about how they upped the number of tickets sold so it was extremely crowded and that it was a lot of adults and not really a kid centered event anymore. We were excited to go, but I'm not convinced yet.

We went on a sold out night. It was insanely crowded and rained half the night.parade was great as was Villains dance party. Character lines were longgggg. We have went a lot in previous years and I said we probably wouldn't go again. Adults are also banned from dressing up now, as are teens I believe...so that kills some of the fun for us.

We went in 2014 and it was nice. It had poured though in the beginning so we were soaked and didn't stay as long as we would have liked.

We went on a Tuesday night though and crowds weren't at capacity since it was raining so hard and they were allowing people to switch their tickets to Friday instead (which ended up being a sold out night and raining anyway).

We went last October for the first time. Since it was our first time I don't have anything to compare it to. It was a sold out party and it was very crowded. Wait times for rides weren't too bad but character wait times were ridic. It was an hour and 45 minutes for the 7 dwarfs. I realize they're never out but that was crazy.

DH and I go every year. We are usually down there for food and wine so we do the party one night. I didn't notice substantially more crowds last year, but we went on a rainy night.

We don't ever do the meet and greets, but the wait times for characters is always long. There are many characters that only appear at the parties.

Wait times for rides are not as short as everyone thinks they're going to be. I think people go in with the expectation that they will just be able to walk on rides with no wait - that's not the case. They are shorter than they are during the day, but there are still lines. The crowd definitely thins out after the first parade.....

Adults and teens are not banned from dressing up. There are limitations (no masks that cover the entire face, etc.), but they can wear costumes.

Well that's good, because I know they changed the rules in that no one over 14 can dress up in any type of costume in the parks. Glad that didn't carry over to the party.

I went last October on a Tuesday night to a non sold out party. My kids loved the parade the line for the trick or treating spots were long so we didn't do too many of those. Character meet and greet lines were redic they said if you really want to do that you need to start lining up early and we didn't want to waste time doing that. We got to ride a decent amount of rides, although we didn't walk right on anything. A lot of people were dressed up kids and adults. If you go at 4 when they let you in its a great way to get some extra time at magic kingdom if you don't have 2
Days to spend in there with the added bonus of the party. We went the day we got there so we weren't in the parks all day.

We did it in 2014 and it was AWESOME!!! My ONLY complaint was that the candy lines in the first part of the night were insane BUT that being said, we were there on Halloween so the crowds were much worse than normal. But after about the first 2-2.5hrs many people cleared out and it was actually pretty cool being in the park. It was fun and festive and you could literally walk right onto the open rides.

The parade was REALLY great, the shows were so much fun, the decorations were awesome, and they did a really great job of making the park feel creepy but not scary. I think it was worth every penny, I would do the MNSSHP again in the future.

ETA - We were there on a sold out night.

For the Halloween Party nights you can dress up, there were A LOT of adults in costume when we were there.

Yes, I dressed up also (and my teen), however, they just made a new rule that no one over the age of 14 can wear costumes in the park so I thought that carried over to Halloween as well.
