Arizona Hotels/Resorts
DH an I are tossing around the idea of going to Arizona for a quick relaxing getaway. Neither of us have ever been so needless to say I don't know where to start.
DH loves to golf and I'm definitely a spa goer.
Any reccos on a place that you've been to and liked?
Where, which city? Best time of year? Most bang for your buck?
Are summers really terrible with the heat?
TIA

Never been but my SIL goes to The Phoenician all the time and raves about it.
It's on my list
The Phoenician
It seems to have the requiements you are looking for.
And yes, she says it's brutal there in the summer. Easily over 100 degrees daily

Def not the summer. We did Scottsdale in Summer & it was 114.
I love the heat, but it was hard to be outside. We ended up road tripping to get out of the blazing heat.

I love the Westin Kierland in Scottsdale. The spa is great and it's on a golf course (and close to many others). I've gone for conferences and DH and I went once on vacation and loved it (he didn't play that golf course though).

Agreed. We were in Phoenix during the summer and it felt like I was walking on the surface of the sun. Seriously, it was rough being outside for more than 1-2 minutes.

Re: Arizona Hotels/Resorts
We went to Arizona a few years ago and stayed in Tucson at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort. It was beautiful, and relaxing. Has a spa and golf courses. We went in May and it was very hot but not unbearable. We also spent 2 days in Scottsdale at the Kimpton FireSky Resort and Spa. That was a beautiful hotel, smaller and no golf course. We visited The Grand Canyon and Sedona also which were both gorgeous, but just stayed in a basic motel in the area.

Re: Arizona Hotels/Resorts
I love AZ! I have stayed at JW Marriott, W, Westin and the Phoenician. They were all excellent hotels. Phoenician has fabulous pools and spa. We are considering going to Scottsdale next month and looking into the Hyatt Regency. Supposed to be great for kids. Without kids, I would probably pick the Four Seasons.

Re: Arizona Hotels/Resorts
Weston kier land has golf and 2 nice pools, one with a lazy river. Across the street (walkable) to some shops and restaurants.
JW Marriott in desert ridge also nice.
I wasn't a fan of the W. Nightclub there and the scene was not what I would call family friendly.
