Diaper Rash and Acidic Fruits?

DD is 11 months and has been on a fruit kick - in the last week or two, I've been embracing her desire to try new things but noticed that anytime she has an acidic citrus fruit, she starts to develop a pretty bad diaper rash. I've done some research online and it seems that this is pretty common when berries and citrus fruits (pineapples, oranges, etc.) are consumed, but everything I read said that it doesn't automatically mean its a food allergy.

Anyone's DC get diaper rash from berries/citrus? Obviously I'll experiment by removing these foods from her diet and seeing what happens!

Yup. Dd was on a clementine kick for awhile, and once ate way way more than she should have, which resulted in an awful rash. We now have to ration oranges to one every 2-3 days or she flares up

Thanks for the response, K! Yep, DD was on a strawberry and those HALO orange kick. Guess we'll now be limiting this stuff!

Yes, my dd had the same issue with citrus and sometimes even kiwi or tomato sauce. She would also get a rash while teething because of having excess saliva and acidity. We ended up just having to change her constantly and would also alternate between triple paste and corn starch with each new diaper.
