First Day Disney - which park?

We're arriving in morning and won't get to a park until around 12pm. We aren't late night people - so will probably stay until 3 or 4, then head back to hotel to get ready for dinner OR may even just stay in whatever park we're at and eat dinner. So...which park first? Other days we'll have more time at the parks - which for shortest amount of time? We didn't get the park hopper. TIA

Re: First Day Disney - which park?

MK and Epcot both merit full days at least so I wouldn't do either of those unless you are going back later in the trip.

HS and AK are the two that would fit that plan best, especially now with so much closed at HS.

Depends - are DC into animals? If so, I would lean towards HS because AK has a lot for those who are interested in/can appreciate it - i.e. the trails and other things where some kids might enjoy stopping to watch an animal for a bit while other kids will blow past that type of thing. Plus, AK is a huge park and even just walking from Points A to B can take a while.

How many other park days do you have and how old are your kids?

Kids are 6 and twins 18 months.
We want to go to MK, AK, HS, and Epcot - one park per day b/c we are only there 4 days.
We're not high energy people - so plan is to go first thing when each opens - stay until 2ish - head back to hotel for pools/naps and then head out for early dinner somewhere and then back for bed. Only thing is that first day when we'll get late start and tired from travel.

We went last summer with a 3 & 5 year old. On arrival day we checked in at about 1, got to Epcot around 3. Did some rides had dinner at Epcot at 7. We stayed for the illuminations fireworks at 9. For us that was enough at Epcot - but we didn't really do much in the world showcase section of Epcot other than walk around and look at some of the areas.

I would save mk for a full day definitely. When we went we did 1/2 day Epcot, 2 days mk, 1 day AK and 1 day HS.

Since you'll only have one day at each I think I would do Epcot that day. There's only a few things in Future World for kids that age so you can do all that first (make sure to get a FP for Test Track if your 6 yo wants to go on). Then I would stroll around World Showcase stopping when the kids are interested and have an early dinner at a restaurant there.

For first timers, Magic Kindgdom should be the first park.

I would do Hollywood Studios. You could fast pass Toy Story Mania, watch a few shows, eat dinner there. We usually only do a half day there. We were there recently and the new star wars attractions are cool if your kids like star wars.

We usually arrive in the evening, and always go to MK on our first day. There's something about Main Street and Cinderella's castle that just puts us in that Disney mood.
