Thermos
Silly question because for some reason my mom never gave us lunch in a thermos growing up...
If I put hot food in a thermos container around 7:30am, will it still be good (as in safe) for dd to eat around 12:00? I'm not worried about it being hot - will it still be safe for her to eat?
Does the 2-hour rule not apply to food kept warm in a thermos?

I always had things in a thermos. I'm still alive!

Re: Thermos
I put hot soup, pasta, etc. in my daughter's funtainer (metal), and it's still hot at lunch time. If it's hot, of course it's still safe to eat.

Thanks! I had no clue whether "still hot" trumps the 2-hour rule!

Re: Thermos
Yes, those thermos jars keep food hot for 5 hours. We use them all the time for our kids.

Re: Thermos
I've been making and putting mac and cheese in a thermos for DD twice a week for the past year and its been fine. No clue how hot it stays since i am not with her but she tends to eat it all. I love it.
