Recommend your sippy cup!
Transitioning DD to cow's milk next month and am thinking of switching over to the sippy cup and dropping the bottle at the same time the transition happens. DD will be 11 months at the time, so I'm not sure if this is too soon for straw sippy cups. Thanks for your help/input!

We love the avent straw sippy. Better for teeth and he does so well with it. Highly recommend.

Re: Recommend your sippy cup!
I like the Tommy Tippee straw sippies and the Munchkin 360 cups. My daughter started the TT at 6 months and the 360 around 8 months. She did well with them so I would think your 11 month old will be fine with a sippy

I would start now with water in a straw cup to let her practice. We like the Playtex ones and the munchkin one with the weighted straw.

There's no reason your daughter can't be drinking water out of a sippy or straw cup already. Do you put water in a bottle now?
Anyway, we have literally 10 different cups between the 2 kids. Just buy some and try it. You'll find every kid prefers different cups, and you'll need to change cups as they get older and want a faster straw, for example.

We use the ones with the weighted straw - I think they are Munchkin. The end of the straw has a weight on it so they can drink from any angle. My daughter has been strictly on straw cups since she was like 6 or 7 months, so it's definitely not too early for a straw - but all kids are different. We never did the regular sippy cup.

DD already drinks water out of a sippy cup throughout the day. I meant that I was going to start putting her milk in sippy cups and dropping the bottle. I just don't love the sippy cups she is currently using, so was looking for suggestions. I'm worried with the straw cups that its going to be difficult to clean the straw adequately.

I have never had a problem cleaning the straw but they also sell straw cleaners. I usually let them soak when used with milk if I don't have the little tool.
I like this set

We put our straw cups in the dishwasher and they've always come out fine. I don't give milk in a straw cup, though.
For milk, we use the Munchkin Click Lock cups. Three pieces and they all go in the dishwasher.
