Not sure if this goes here - Road Trip question
We are taking a road trip from NY to Williamsburg, VA. we leave early Fri AM - we are staying at a time share that has a full kitchen.
I want to bring as much as I can, so I'm not (1) running around buying stuff and (2) don't want to buy full size of things I have at home (ex ketchup, oil, etc)
Now, If I bring lunchmeats will those travel well - in an iced cooler? What about chicken cutlets? salad stuff (lettuce/onion/tomato/etc)?
Never did this before! Thanks!!

Not sure if this goes here - Road Trip question
We live in Richmond VA (about an hour from Williamsburg) and have often traveled back from visiting family on LI with coolers of food and have never had an issue. As long as you have a cooler you should be fine to bring pretty much anything. There are also plenty of stores around Williamsburg if you do forget anything and have to run out.

Re: Not sure if this goes here - Road Trip question
I think it would be okay in a cooler with ice. About how long is the ride? 6 hours? But honestly, I'd probably buy that stuff down there... depending on how long you're staying. If you're in a time share with a kitchen for 5 days or a week, chances are you'll be eating plenty of deli meats, uncooked meats, and pasta/bagged salads, right? I don't think you'll have SO much left over that it would be wasteful. I totally see the point in bringing the condiments and snacks and things like that though. Anything that won't spoil and easily transportable.

It's fine as long as you have a cooler of ice.
I assume you're going to stop at least once for a bathroom/gas break. Check the ice in the cooler and if necessary, add some more. You'll be fine.

We travel with our timeshares all the time. I rarely bring any food other then snacks for the car ride. I go food shopping when I'm down there. I do agree with bringing things like condiments, coffee filters, extra detergent/dish washing soap, etc...

Not sure if this goes here - Road Trip question
I would bring all toiletries, condiments and cleaning items but buy all the food down there, save for snacks for the ride.
