I didn't realize there were so many areas to the Outer Banks...any recommendations on where to stay?

Last summer we stayed in Southern Shores. I really like it. We rented a house on the beach with a pool so we had everything we could want,

probably corolla or duck or nags head would be good to have lots of restaurants and stuff around....
My parents have a vacation house on Hatteras Island- but thats a national seashore and a little more "remote". theres still a bunch of restaurants, mini golf, kayak/jet ski rentals, etc... but its just not quite as much gong on as the more northern areas....

We've gone a few times and stayed in either Nags Head or Corolla.
There's lots of watersports, mini golf, shopping. I don't remember the names of any restaurants we went to, but we enjoyed them all.
We use Village Realty to rent houses.

We like Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, and Kitty Hawk, it's right in the middle of everything and when you're checking-in and out you aren't in boatloads of traffic... there is only one road going into OBX and if you're going mid-summer, on a Saturday, it's a suicide mission if you hit it at prime time
