Tudors?

What do you think of them?

We looked at one today and it needs work but is a good price and in a good area. Any pros/cons with tudors???

TIA...

Re: Tudors?

I grew up in a Tudor (well Mock Tudor) and I think its a gorgeous house. Lots of character and the outside is much nicer than a sided house. I love Tudor houses... and Tudors

There is a real Tudor house near where I live in Manchester...it has a ghost and it was built in 1177. I pass by it on the way to the supermarket. Its amazing

Re: Tudors?

I love tudors from the outside but from the inside I find them dark and usually with small rooms. I'm not sure if that's just the style but I need more light and airy rooms.

I was going to say the same thing - inside, it seems like there are smaller rooms but more of them. I would prefer to have larger rooms and less of them - a more open, airy feeling. That's just my preference though.

Our family home has lots of open rooms and isn't dark...its just what you do with it.

I love love love the look of them. but i think the style of the house itself also limits how it can be decorated. (JMO)

Re: Tudors?

I love them! I used to own one and the rooms were actually really big! It was the only place where our sectional fit in the Living room! And the master was huge as well. Closests were a bit lacking, but I think we could have easily converted part of the master to a walk in.

Re: Tudors?

We looked at a ton of them when we were house hunting, and found that the main living area was spacious, but the bedrooms were small.

Although I love the look of a tudor it wasn't for us.
