Re: Dutch Wonderland

This is how we do it and it works great for us.

Arrive first day and spend it by the pool/sprinkler area. Order lunch there ,bring down adult drinks etc

Dinner out that night.

Next morning breakfast at Eden and get to DW at opening. Morning on the dry rides, lunch in the park then afternoon in the water area.
If time when we get back to Eden, some more pool time there.
Dinner out that night.

Next morning breakfast and hit the road to go home.

2 nights and it's perfect.

Can I chime in with 2 questions..1) what room do you recommend at Eden? 2) At DW it says "Just for Kids" rides. Does that mean no parents go on? Sorry for the stupid question. I have no idea if my DD will go on a ride alone lol We have never done it before.

All rooms are good, but we get a two room suite It has a living area (some have a bed in that area, others just a couch that can pull out if you need) then there is a pass through to the bedroom and that pass through has a little kitchette with microwave, fridge etc.
Great for little ones if you need to bring milk and you can even heat up a quick mac and cheese oatmeal or whatever in the micro.
We like the 2 rooms so if DD goes to bed, we can hang out and watch tv in the living room and not feel we have to be all quiet

Rides that say kids only are generally too small for parents to fit on- but 90% of the rides you can go on with them- it just might be a tight squeeze! Only the really super tiny, slow ones are kids only. And you are so close they can see you the whole time

Re: Dutch Wonderland

I will say at 2 years old DD was a bit frightened of the rides. Even when i went with her. But she was a natural scardey cat at that age. So it really depends on the kid.
She still had a blast and LOVED the water area as well

LOL Thank you. Sorry to hijack your thread btw. I was just so curious. We went to Chuckee Cheese once and she was ok on the baby ride but I was right there. If I stepped away I think she would flip the heck out.

We did 2 nights at Eden. First day when we got there (early) we went to DW and were done by 4, then hung out by the pool at Eden for a little bit then went to get dinner. Second day we went on Strasburg RR, came back hung out at the pool and went out to dinner. Left the next day and stopped in Philly for Please touch museum then went home.

ETA my DS LOVED the water area at Eden

I would do the preview plan on your first night. Then go back the next day for the full day, or even the day following that. They don't have to be used consecutively. Every ticket includes that free preview plan where you can go 3 hours before the park closes. You can get a lot in during those 3 hours. We always do.

This!!!

We usually do 2 nights at Eden - we arrive early in the day, do the pool for a bit, grab dinner and then head to Dutch Wonderland for the preview.

The next day, we go back to Dutch and then head back in the mid afternoon to hit the pool.

The third day, we do a little time at the pool and then head out at checkout.

ETA: The rides are kids rides but, all but 2 can accommodate a parent as well.

I went last year with my 2 year old. We spent maybe 2 hours at DW. She liked the characters and shows so, we didn't mind that she didn't like the rides. Eden is amazing!

I see most people stayed 2 nights. We were thinking about doing 3 nights. I think DS would like going to the RR station and I wouldn't mind a "relaxing" day - if there is such a thing with a toddler. 3 days isn't too much, right?

3 days is great! I also like to go to kitchen kettle village..great shops n a nice playground area for kids! They also have tanger n another outlet near by n also strasburg creamery by the rr.

You could also go to turkey hill factory for samples of ice cream/hands on activities for kids too
