JandJ1224 and Alaska....and anyone planning an Alaska cruise...
Where is your cruise living from? Are you going pre-cruise?
We can't do any of the catch ours as my DH and older daughter have crab and shellfish allergies.
We are traveling with grandparents who nixed helicopters or small planes.
Had been looking into one of the dogsled tours but thinking of skipping it. We are definitely doing one whale watching tour. The girls wanted to maybe go to the totem village.
Not sure yet, we have time as the trip is in late summer.

We are leaving from Seattle in May. We are flying in Friday night cruise leaves Sunday. Planning to do regular sight seeing things during day Sat and going to Sounders professional soccer game at night. As far as cruise we are doing helicopter dog sledding in Juneau. Renting a car so we could go to Mendenhall glacier afterwards. Ketchikan doing biggest catch boat trip which I guess your saying is a no go for you? I had looked into the lumberjack show which I think looked cute and I think kids would like. Sitka we are doing private wildlife boat tour. Victoria nothing really planned.

What hotel did you book in Seattle? We are going back and forth. We will have 1.5 days before our cruise in Seattle so I might ask what you enjoyed and what you didn't. We might be meeting up with some family who live in Washington, but that is up in the air.
We were going to do a do sled excursion but are rethinking it.
Unfortunately they are too uncomfortable to do the crab tour even if they don't eat them.
I was looking at the show, but they saw a lumberjack show last year at the LI fair at old Bethpaige restoration fair, so they seemed ho hum on it.

Didn't book hotel yet but thinking Grand Hyatt. In Seattle plan to do Pike Market, underground tour, Space Needle, Possibly science museum and the soccer game.
I will definitely post a review when I get back.
There was reviews I saw about doing glacier trek which looked pretty cool. Also a kayaking excursion. Not sure how old your kids are but those seemed interesting!

So we finally decided on tours. We are doing the deadliest catch after all. I spoke with her ped and since she last tested negative and isn't eating the crab they were comfortable with her going. We are doing the mendenhall glacier and catamaran whale watching tour. And a family challenge tour (gold panning, a 40 below room and playing with sled dogs). It got good reviews. We aren't doing anything in Victoria since we are only there late. Will just walk around I think.
Please let me know how you like the deadliest catch tour. It looks great.

If you're leaving from or visiting Vancouver, visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge. It was the best thing about our Alaskan Cruise even though it was not in Alaska.

The family challenge tour sounds awesome. We aren't visiting Skagway unfortunately.
We don't have anything planned for Victoria either.

I did a cruise to Alaska back in 1999 and it was amazing. We did a helicopter tour in Juneau and it was such an amazing experience. Horseback riding in Skagway and a seaplane to a salmon hatchery in Kechitkan.

We did this a few years ago. The cruise itself wasn't bad but the excursions were a lot more than Caribbean/Europe. I remember a lot of the excursions being 100-200 per person per day. The helicopter and some things were more. Alaska is expensive.
Prices on the ship were what we expected. I remember beers being like 5 bucks, so I don't think that high cost of living translates to the actual boat, if that makes sense.
Just an FYI.
