Antigua for a family vacation?
I'm in the process of planning a vacation for our family (DH, me, DS1 - 6, DS2 - 2) and I started thinking about Antigua.
Is this a good island for a family vacation? We'd of course like beach and relaxation but we'd also like to sight-see and explore.
Any feedback on the Verandah Resort and Spa? I looked at Jumby but I can't justify nor afford 3K per night. We're thinking 5-7 nights.

Re: Antigua for a family vacation?
I went for my Honeymoon and stayed at an adults only resort, but even when we left the resort for several excursions, we got the impression that this particular island is more couples oriented and not as family friendly as some others in the Caribbean. I could be wrong, but that's the impression we got. A lot of other vacations we've been on there were always a lot of families and kids on the excursions or walking through town. In Antigua we mainly saw adults.

We went to Antigua for our honeymoon also. We never left the resort because there wasn't much to do that we couldn't do at the resort. But we didn't really see kids at the airport or on our flights.
