Seven Mile Beach Cayman Islands?

We are going to the Cayman Islands next month for spring break.

Can you recommend things to do and places to eat?

I read about the submarine and stingray place that look promising.

+++1 for stingray city, some tour operators combine that with a snorkel trip and a stop at Rum Point for lunch

-Butterfly Farm was very nice if kids are into that
-Turtle Farm was decent but gets very busy with tours, etc
-Blow Holes if you have a car and are driving by
-Submarine was good
-Bioluminescence boat /snorkel was AMAZING http://caymanseaelements.com/tours/biobay

Thanks for the list. I am going to try to do Stingray City, Turtle Farm and the Submarine. Kids are probably too young for the bioluminescence. We will take our own snorkel gear though.

Can you recommend any good restaurants?

we haven't been with our kid- but i liked these

Kaibo - Upstairs
http://kaibo.ky/?page_id=100#_=_
Sunshine Grill (definitely kid friendly)
http://sunshinesuites.com/sunshine-grill/
Tukka (need a car to get to)
http://www.tukka.ky/#_=_
The Cracked Conch by the Sea
http://www.crackedconch.com.ky/#_=_
Morgans Harbour
Grand Old House

Honestly the island got so built up over the years that there are a ton of good restaurants/cafes/shacks. It really depends whether you will be staying close to 7 mile beach or venturing out further..

enjoy!!!!

We did the sting rays and it was awesome! had a great time. Stopped for lunch at another part of the island...it might have been rum point I can't remember. But it was nice.

There are a ton of places to eat! I wish I could remember the name of the place that we had pizza. It was really good. It was on 7 mile beach up the street from our hotel on the right hand side. If I think of it I will let you know.

Have fun!

Sting Ray City is a MUST! They get right up close and personal with you! In their natural environment and not in a tank which makes it worth it! Very much enjoyed it.

We went with our kids to Cayman Spirits and Distillery and had a blast!!! They played air hockey while we sampled (took a taxi everywhere). Our group really enjoyed it! Moses was a ton of fun and a great tour guide. This is a definite must do while at the Caymans. Also don't get deterred by the weird street that you have to go down to get there, just punch on though, it is worth it.

Sunshine Grill was my absolute favorite place to eat!!! Delicious and fresh food! Did I mention FRESH! We loved this little gem and found ourselves eating alot here while on our week vacation in Cayman. It's tucked behind the Sunshine suites but worth seeking out. Breakfast was delicious. Try the Banana Brulee steel cut oatmeal. The kids also loved their pancakes. For lunch I tried the mahi mahi bites, calamari and snapper sandwich. The theme there was fresh! You would expect amazing seafood on an island but that's not the case of all the places we tried. Sunshine does it right! For dinner I recommend the Almond Snapper and a nice, cold mojito! I stuck to seafood but my husband ventured out to the burgers and he swears the "kitchen sink" was amazing. I highly recommend.

Will they have life vests for the kids or should I bring their puddle jumpers?

7yo is a beginner swimmer but definitely not strong enough to snorkel for long periods without a vest.

We are staying at the Ritz Cayman. I tried to stay at the Westin for free using points but it was blacked out or sold out.

I am really excited for Sting Ray City and the Turtle Farm. My boys (5 and 7) are sure to love it.
