Cleaning before vacation
I also need to come home to a clean house. All I want to do when I come home from vacation is throw the laundry down the basement stairs (DH does it) and sit down and relax.

My DH is, we are about to head out and hes vaccumming and dusting...I have no time for that after packing everyones crap!

I'm the same way!! The house is always immaculate when we leave for vacation, there is nothing I hate more than walking into a mess after being away.

Sometimes, but lately our vacations are last minute trips and I have just enough time to pack and pay bills.. Last trip I did have to clean since house sitters were coming to stay.
With our last vacation I did laundry on the last night, so it was wonderful to come home with all clean clothes.

Absolutely! I cannot stand the idea of walking back into a mess! It's almost like I think that vacation will re-set everything. If i leave the house compulsively neat, when I come home from vacation I'll obviously be recharged enough to keep it that way forever.
We've been home from our cruise a month. That theory didn't pan out
