ok what is the deal with

crib bumpers? i dont remember when or where i heard this but i heard it isnt safe to keep in the crib with the baby..my dd is 3 months old and im thinking of putting her in the crib..but do i take the bumpers out? or did i hear this wrong? all this SIDS stuff can really make you crazy..i thought the bumpers were safeChat Icon thanks for your help.Chat Icon

I left them in....some people take them out...it is whatever you are most comfortable with

thanks!! its so scary but at the same time you would think its dangerous for the bumpers to be out...in case their arms are legs get stuck...Chat Icon hmmmmm i think im going to keep dd in the bassinet next to me for a little while longer...im too nervous..

For me it was all about magnitude of injury. An arm getting stuck would cause a bruise, nothing life threatening. So I followed the guidelines -- I couldn't have lived with myself if something had happened otherwise.

i agree 100% ..my father in law couldnt believe i brought that up...he mentioned the arms and legs..but like you said..what would you rather have...at least a bruise would heal..

Luka doesnt go near the bumpers and he doesnt roll over yet so it isnt a concern.
