my belly sleeper.. do i even try and change her to a back sleeper during sleep training?
let me clarify because my thoughts did not come out very clearl lol!!
she never has put herself on her belly. we decided at 7 weeks to put her that way. it worked for her. it helped her reflux, she didnt twitch herself awake, and it helped her gas. every once in a while when we would be cozy, she would lean on either us, the couch pillow etc, and fall asleep on her side. but she never falls asleep on her back.
so when we are putting her down, it's always on her belly or her side, depending on where she is. she HAS/WILL sleep in a rock and play or stroller, so she is upright. but has never slept flat on her back.
_____________________________________________ because shes so good at picking her self up, when we put her down before she wants to sleep, she just props up, like for tummy time.
i feel like lying on her back kind of "keeps her down" but shes never slept like this! never flat on her back. she likes being on her side, but we prop her. and she rolls out of it in her sleep and wakes herself up.
so flat on her back worth trying?
i know soon enough she'll be rolling anyway. but she hasn't rolled yet.

You could probably try it - I mean it can't hurt. Is there a reason why you are propping her on her side?
When my DS was young he immediately rolled onto his side when he slept (even before he could roll over). I never tried to change how he slept. Around 10 months (when he could roll over, pull to stand, crawl), I just automatically put him on his belly since that is how he preferred to sleep.

If she can put herself in a position then I would leave her.

I'm confused. Is she rolling back to front and front to back?

maybe i'm reading wrong, but I'm not understanding the problem/question - If she's sleeping fine on her belly, and is comfortable that way, why would you try to change it ?

If she is not sleeping through the night on her stomach, I would try to see if it is better now that she is a little older with sleeping on her back (hey what do you have to loose if she is not sleeping through the night on her stomach... you can always put her back on her stomach). My son (who is the same exact age and your daughter) has gas issues also and he is fine sleeping on his back.... Obviously every child is different and just because it works for one does not mean it will work for another.

My kid hated being swaddled and sleeping on her back. She was very young when we gave up and just put her on her stomach. Only recently and she's almost 3 will she sleep on her back.

If it works for you, go with it..sleep is important for everyone in your house...my son would go down for tummy time and inevitably pass out when he was smaller..I just sat myself down and did things on the floor or around him...he was very happy napping that way...it's funny, he's 22 months old and sleeps exclusively on his back for the night but on his belly (at daycare only) for naps...however they get the necessary sleep, they get it!

My dd had been a belly sleeper since she was 10 weeks old. She sleeps through the night. Our ped told us to let her sleep on her belly.
