I found out that insurance will cover DD's specialty formula with a $100 copay, which is awesome.

The problem is I received the first shipment today and it was partially frozen (which makes sense since it's freezing out). They're sending another shipment but it isn't getting any warmer soon so I don't really see how this won't happen again. The boxes do not say "do not freeze" and fedex didn't ring the bell so it was sitting outside for hours.

If anyone else gets formula delivered (or really anything temperature sensitive) how do you avoid this happening? Not only is it wasteful but now I have 3 boxes full of useless formula I need to get rid of.

Anything I don't want sitting outside, I get the tracking number, sign up for text alerts and try to stay close to home the day it's coming. Text alerts don't always come right away though - usually half an hour after delivery for me. If you are out all day, you can send deliveries to a fedex store.

I did this with DS1 for a few months but don't remember having that problem. Where do u order it from? I used to order it from the walmart website (they had the best prices for it), maybe have them put it together and u can just pick it up from the store? Just for the times when is really cold outside.

We use continued Care. If you can, call your Vendor and see if they can give you a window? Our driver would call on really cold or hot days.

You can register for alerts on your phone/email that will tell you when the package is being delivered, and when it's delivered.

Also, I'd probably leave a note on my front door that asks FedEx to ring the bell for deliveries.

The other option is to see if the company shipping the formula can require a signature, which means they'll have to ring your bell.

Thanks. I rescheduled the delivery. My concern was more for when I go back to work and no one is home to bring it in. I'll just have to hope for nice weather!

We had a medical supply company deliver it.. It came monthly and we always knew when it was going to be delivered.
