getting annoyed with my real estate agent. is it time to find another?

I like my agent for the most part. she is selling our house and I think she is doing a good job but I feel like she just drops off from time to time.
maybe bc she is very busy and dealing with multiple closings in a week at times (?) I don't know..

we having been using her as our buying agent now b.c we are looking for a townhome and this is where she really lacks.

we put an offer on a place last sunday. The place already had another offer on it...
I texted her Tuesday to see what was going on, she replied she was at a funeral for her Aunt. I said sorry for your loss etc etc

I followed up Thursday and didn't hear anything and here we are Friday and I have received no word.

I feel like I should be kept in the loop. am I wrong to want to a text that says "nothing to report" from time to time?

maybe we should look for another buying agent.

I have a great one if you want a rec. we used her when we bought our house and my father used her when he bought his townhome.

Not at all, agents need to be on top of their game, especially if u've made an offer on a house. Something similar happened to us when we were looking for our current home, plus she didn't really keep in mind our must-have list, we'd even send her houses we were interested in seeing so she could just make the appointments! The house we ended up buying wasn't because she found it, my DH actually was the one that found it. It sucks she got a full commission when she didn't fully do her job

I am in nj and can recommend two different realtors in Somerset and Morris counties if that helps you. I would say that your realtor would be unacceptable to me.

If you are unhappy you should find someone else. She knew you were anxious for an update and yet you haven't heard from her for days. Unacceptable. A quick takes seconds.

I've only ever worked with one agent but I specifically remember her calling me from a funeral/on her way to a funeral to update us on an offer we put in and to go over a strategy. It was brief, but still. I don't see a reason why all agents can't be as amazing but apparently they aren't. Move on and find someone you are happy with.

If I were you, I would absolutely change agents. For her to be AWOL for more than a day when you made an offer on a house is completely unacceptable. We are using a great agent from D.Elliman and she is always texting me with updates on houses we want to see/have seen and offers/counteroffer status.

We sold our house with her help and she came out during that snowstorm last week to show us a home that had listed on Zillow only 2 days prior, so she is pretty dedicated! PM me for name if you want to use her. She focuses mostly on south shore Nassau.
