Are pouches safe?
I used to give my 4 year old DD the fruit and veggie pouches. They were so easy to just throw in my bag when we were going out and she loved feeding herself. Then, I heard about all the problems with mold so I stopped giving them to her even though we never had that problem. Now with my DS, he won't let me feed him (he's 10 months). I just give him regular food cut into small pieces. I gave him a pouch yesterday bc we were out and he loved it. I'm just a little hesitant to start giving them to him bc of the stories I've heard. I bought the plum organics and earth's best. What are your thoughts?

My son loves those. I have also been using them sometimes for my 7 month old. I'm not worried about it.

Re: Are pouches safe?
The majority of pouches are safe. Some of the brands have clear bottoms. If you get those you can pick flavors that are light so you can tell if mold is growing.

Re: Are pouches safe?
I hope they're safe...that's the only way my kids eat veggies some days! That said, I always taste a tiny bit before I give it to them, because it makes me a little nervous that you can't see inside a lot of them.

I never thought of that! I'd like to think they are safe. How on earth could they get away with selling them to kids of this was a big issue???? Very scary thought. I always buy the puches :/

Re: Are pouches safe?
I used them too, not always though. I'd be more concerned about the ingredients though, read the ingredients and go for the ones that list the actual veggie or fruit first (like spinach or blueberries), instead of apple juice, etc. Plums Organic were ok but I liked more Happy Baby (I think a mom created this product.) I also liked the ones that would use grains like amaranth or quinoa.
