the stride rite near me in nj closed a month ago. It is really sad.

I got some really good deals when the one in the smithhaven mall closed. I'll have to try to get over to the Broadway mall.

Why are they all closing?
They are owned by payless. I think they announced 2 years that any payless or striderite that makes less than x amount would be shUT down. It sucks because that's all my dd wears and they have always been spot on with measurements.
We now hit the outlets, get her sized then order online.

And that's one of the reasons they are closing. The online sales and then return to the stores is killing them. The returns go against their store total for the day.

I always buy thier ales and only spend at max $25 a pair.
