If your kids had to switch rooms b/c of new baby...
I have two DSs now and each has their own room. We are expecting number 3 in July. No matter the gender our plan is to put the oldest together in what is now DS1's room. They will be 5 and 2.5 in July.
If you had to do this, did you make the transition before the baby came? How far before? How do you handle bedtime and were there problems with them keeping each other awake?
I'm starting to feel so guilty that they will have to suddenly share space. I'm nervous that they won't go to sleep and will just drive each other nuts. It's all going to be okay, right?

we are doing this exact thing in March. 3 rd is due in May. dd 1 and 2 will get bunk beds they will be 6 and 3. my older one is super excited. My younger one doesn't understand yet. She is saying I odn't want the baby in my crib or room etc. It might be hard but I feel like doing it a few months ahead ives time to realize it's for the baby. Give her time to adjust to the new space.
Bedtime will now be together. I will just read them their books on the floor then they can get in bed and I will whatever it is to get them sleep lol. Right now my older one is harder and wants me rub her back/belly whoch is usually only 5 mins so I will do what I can
i have no choice right now. we have 3 bedrooms the nursery now is super tiny.We will eventually move but don't have the $ right now

We did not have to put two in one room but we moved my son to the other room which is bigger. We had him involved with picking the theme. We did is 3 months before I had my second. We wanted to make sure our son didn't think the baby was kicking him out of his room

I moved my son and daughter into the same room in December and baby #3 is due in March. I wanted them to get used to it before the baby came and not have my son feel like I brought the baby home and now he's getting kicked out. They are both very excited about it and right now enjoy having bunk beds and sharing a room. I plan to move my daughter into her own room when the new baby is about 1 so the boys will share the bigger room.

And to add, there hasn't been any issues at bedtime. Sometimes I hear them talking before they fall asleep but its never been an issue.

Re: If your kids had to switch rooms b/c of new baby...
We moved our twins out of the nursery for our new twins in November and the babies were born in January. There was no connection for the girls between the move and the babies. They got a new room with all new furniture and "big girl" beds.
ETA: I like bunk beds if you are worried about them interacting at bed time. Each child has their own space and can't see or bother the other.
