Volunteer Opportunities in the Mental Health Field
I would like to go back to school in the next few years for a masters in Mental Health Counseling (possibly followed by a doctorate). In the meantime, I'd like to find a volunteer opportunity to gain experience, strengthen my application and start networking. I've checked volunteermatch.org and sent a few emails, but thought I'd see if anyone here had any ideas or suggestions. Thanks!

Volunteer Opportunities in the Mental Health Field
Call the Mental Health Association to see if they have any suggestions.
Also NAMI (national alliance for the Mentally Ill). Also agencies that place mentally ill people, and psychiatric hospitals.

call the long island crisis center - its a hotline and they do their own training to help you be qualified to answer the calls
