Hotel Hershey - Recommendations and What to Do Nearby
We are thinking of doing a long weekend here in February with 2 1/2 yo DD and 6 mos DS. I know the indoor pool will be more than enough for DD but was wondering what else is nearby that would be fun and easy to do with the kids. Any must dos for the hotel itself or close by? How close is the Please Touch Museum that everyone raves about? Thanks.

I have stayed at the Hotel Hershey. It is very nice, indoor pool is nice. I have never stayed in Winter so I really can't say what to do! Just know that Hotel Hershey is really nice. Definitely do the buffet breakfast at the Hotel, you will see characters outside th restaurant.

I think she's referring to the Hands-On-House, in Lancaster. http://www.handsonhouse.org/

I personally wouldn't do a trip to Hershey in February. There isn't much to do. Chocolate World is cute, but not a huge attraction. Philly is too far, even going to Hands on House in Lancaster is a hike (40 minutes or so from Hershey). You could do the Hershey Story museum, but your kids will be bored there since they are so young.

I actually was referring to the Please Touch Museum. I didn't realize it was that far. Will have to be a separate trip.

I hear you. It's more just to get out of town for a bit and recharge. I'm going back to work the week after from a 6 mo maternity leave. I am completely stir crazy. Looking for a quick weekend trip within a few hours where there's stuff to do onsite since it's cold out and would occupy DD if we don't venture out. DD loves to swim so an indoor pool is perfect. They are too little for the indoor water parks. No Boston, Newport, Mystic. Would welcome any other suggestions.

The problem is, there is nothing else to do on site other than swim during this season. You could go to the Doubletree in Lancaster...that would be closer to the train museum, Hands on House, etc., and they have a sprinkler park type area in the hotel.

This is super cute and I've heard great things about it on here. Thanks for the recommendation.
We were in Lancaster in June. I don't think DH is up for another trip back quite yet.

What about an indoor water park? Kalahari is great for young kids I have heard. They have areas for young toddlers

Well, another suggestion is Rocking Horse Ranch. It's 90 minutes north of NYC. We just got back from a long weekend, and it's great there!! Immaculate place, great pool area (not huge and overwhelming), and a lot of activities on site. It's spendy, but your two kids would be free since they are under 3.
