sleep help!
DS slept a bit through the night but not in the past 2/3 months- colds, feeding schedule changes, ETC.
He is currently getting up MORE than ever
7pm- put down approx 8 PM- goes to sleep
10-11 wakes up, wont go back to sleep without a bottle (tried to wait it out up to an hour) 1-2am wakes up - same 4 am- wakes up- same
6-630 AM real wake up time
Any ideas how to FIX THIS? Dr suggested that we wean off bottle during night & give water but it doesnt seem to help.
he has always been in his crib and we have the nighttime go to sleep routine down... it's the wake ups/ feeding that are screwing us up!

Age?
Have you tried any sleep training....and this will depend on age etc. are you giving just bottles or solids too?
I found that when they have a period of bad sleeping due to illness or whatever you have to go back to the basics on whatever was working before. My DS was waking multiple times a night til probably at least 9 months.

we have tried but i dont think consistent enough - i guess we CIO but not "officially" by that plan
bottles & solids too. the last 'regression' was after we switched to more solids.

Re: sleep help!
The thing about sleep is that it can vary greatly on the kid and the circumstances, if they're light sleepers, or going through a milestone, starting solids, bfeeding, switching from boob to bottle, etc.
My advise would be just go with the flow, watch out for those patterns and signs, and follow his lead. Yes, def have a bed time routine but don't force a sleep training cause it can backfire. While it sucks having interrupted sleep, it won't last forever. I went through it with DS1 and now with DS2, thank goodness DS1 sleeps through the night since 11 or 12 month old.

Just to clarify, you are giving a bottle 3 times after he goes to bed?
At 10.5 months, he does not have to eat at those times. It is most likely from habit. Dump the overnight bottles. I wouldn't even bother with the water because he is still going to get up and expect something.
We did a version of CIO at around 9 months because my son was getting up multiple times a night and it worked like a charm.

Re: sleep help!
Uhh I'm dealing with the same issue with my twins. One has a similar sleep schedule and just wakes the other up when she cries. For that reason, we have one in the pack and play in our bedroom and the other in the crib in the nursery. DH and i get home at 7:30-8pm and immediately go into the bedtime routine which either takes 3 hours or if they go down right away, they start the "wake up tour" around 11pm and it goes on til 5am.
DH read that at 8, 9, 10 months there is another sleep regression and its due to the increase in brain activity. They are learning and absorbing so much at these stages that it's as if they can't shut their brain off. I don't know if this is 100% of the issue but it does make sense. It is advised not to change sleep routine because it's supposed to be temporary. Anywhere from 3-10 weeks time. We're closing out week 3.

Is he teething? We went through a very rough patch where DS was up almost every hour.

I just want to say that I feel you - I am in sleep hell with my toddler right now. We were up from 1-3 - UGH!!! He really wants to cement his standing as an only child.

Re: sleep help!
Is he eating enough during the day? I agree that at 10.5 months he doesn't need to eat 3 times at night...my 8 month old barely drinks 3 bottles during the day!
First, I'd look at how much he's eating during the day. Is he on 3 solid meals and 2 snacks? Can you add more calories into his dinner?
I'd probably leave the 10pm bottle and let him CIO for the other 2. See how he does with that. He should hopefully drop that 10pm wake up on his own when he learns to self-settle (which he'll do when CIO for the other 2).
I'm not sure if you're opposed to CIO. I never thought I'd do it, and never had to do it with my son. But at 6 months, my daughter was still waking multiple times at night and I was EXHAUSTED. So, we did CIO and within 2 nights she was sttn. It was totally worth it, and actually not bad at all.

Re: sleep help!
I'm having some sleep issues with my almost 7 month old that are similar. Her ped told me the other day that she doesn't need to eat throughout the night anymore & should be able to go 10 hours without food by now. It's more of a habit now to eat. She encouraged me to try CIO. I've done 5 minute intervals and sometimes that works, but the dr said it's ok to let her cry for a while bc it will decrease each subsequent night.

I know all babies are different but my money is on teething. Honestly, not even lying my little guy was up every 40 minuts to an hour for about a month or two straight. He also cut like 4 teeth. I could tell he was very cranky and in pain. The only thing that consoled was bottle or breast. Maybe try some Motrin, it helps with the inflammation or an amber teething bracelet during the day (people are skeptical about them but I'll give anything a shot). Once he stopped teething he started STTN like a champ. Goodluck. I just brought him into our bed at the time because it was the only way I could get some sleep. It will pass!
