Misc Disney Questions

Figured I would just put one post with all different questions I had. Appreciate help with any of them Chat Icon

Disney Transportation - is there a schedule posted somewhere? I thought I read that the buses start 45 minutes prior to park opening but what if your breakfast at the park is 8am and the park doesn't open until 9am - how do you get there? How do you use the transportation to get from your resort to another resort? Take the bus (or monorail or boat) to the nearest park then wait for the bus for the other resort there? How do you know how much time this all takes (in regards to showing up on time for restaurant reservations etc)?

Strollers - (kids are 2.5 & 5). I know at some point they will be tired and want a break but we only plan on being at the parks from morning til mid-late afternoon - not staying the whole day. Still need a stroller? Double or sit/stand? If you brought your own - did you push the stroller around all day if your kids walked - or lock up the stroller somewhere and get it when you needed it? What about rides - you have to park it and leave it every time you go on a ride?

Tickets - if you don't get park hopper - can you leave a park and go back to the same park later on?

Dining - is there a character dining with Star Wars characters? I didn't see anything but thought this would be such a popular thing was hoping I just missed it somewhere.

Photos - Does the photopass work for all the photos from the rides too? If so how do you get them on your account? For the Disney CC meet and greet - does the photopass link for that? If you and your husband each have a separate card can you get 2 free 5x7 of different pictures?

Thanks for help with any of these questions - looking at so many sites and not seeing any of these answers.

ETA - we are going 1st week of Oct - is it possible to get a table service meal w/o reservation -obviously not the popular ones - but would we be able to get something other than counter service at the parks around dinner time - or do we need to book every meal if we want table service?

Re: Misc Disney Questions

Check out the disboards.com. That site has everything and many experts that can answer any question.

Transportation- I believe busses officially start one hour before park opening. For early breakfasts I think people use taxis a lot. I've never done an early breakfast though.

To get from your resort to another either use a taxi or take the bus to a park and go from there. Personally I only scheduled meals in other places if we were going directly from a park. For instance I scheduled an Ohana dinner the day we were at Epcot so we could easily take the monorail back and forth. I'd leave at least 90 minutes and preferably 2 hours to get between resorts if you're not starting at a park.

Strollers- We always rent a double. (we don't own one). We took it with us everywhere, but depending on the park there are central areas for stroller parking so you can hit a bunch of rides all at once and then pick up the stroller and walk to the next area. There's no way to "lock" them up. Just take anything valuable with you.

Tickets- yes, you can return to the same park later on.

Dining- I'm pretty sure there's no Star Wars meal right now.

Photos- do you mean memory maker? the ride photos automatically get loaded onto your account because of your magicband. It's some crazy technology that I don't understand, but it works and you don't have to do anything. Can't help with the CC meet and greet.

When is your trip?

Re: Misc Disney Questions

The answers to all the transportation questions are easily found on disboards. It is a pain to go from one resort to another without a rental car. It can be done but plan on 1-1.5 hours to do it safely. A taxi would be much simpler.

Strollers. Rent, rent, rent. You can rent a nice double GT city mini for a week. You pick it up at bell services and leave it with bell services after your trip. Kingdom strollers was great and clean. Yes you will definitely need one with kids that age. Expect to walk 5+ and often as much as 10+ miles a day in the parks. You cannot lock strollers in the parks. The cast members constantly move them around. One suggestion is to park it in one land, go on those rides, collect the stroller than move onto the next land. I would leave water but not valuables in the stroller. Don't rent from Disney. They are uncomfortable hard strollers with no real storage and they can't leave the park. So if you stay one night for the fireworks and they fall asleep you would be forced to carry them or wake them up, rather than push to the bus, then push back to the room from the bus.

You can leave and return all you want with out park hoppers. But you can only go to one park a day, but yes you can go in the morning, leave at lunch, then return at night, provided it us the same park. You only need hoppers if you want to go to places like AKL or HS in the morning, then over to Epcot for dinner.

Right now, no Star Wars dining in October.

Any ride that has a photo you would get. When you exit the ride find the photo number of your photo on the tv screens, go to the register and you will tap your band and it will be added.

October is usually free dining. I would personally book if you want to do sit downs, you can cancel them the day before if you change your mind. While you will be able to find a table somewhere, it could be very late at night, very early for dinner, at an out of the way resort, etc. It might prove to be more of a headache than it is worth.

Misc Disney Questions

Disney Transportation - the buses do start running 45 minutes prior to park opening UNLESS you have an early breakfat reservation at a park. they will send an early bus. But you have to tell the front desk or quest services. I think the early bus comes anyway but its better if the hotel notes it for the driver. There is only one an at one time.

Strollers - rent from a company like Kingdom Strollers. and get a double. Even if you think your kid will walk... its disney - its hot and a LOT of walking they will tire eaisly and you will need it.

Tickets - yes as long as it is the same park

Dining- no Stars Wars dining as of now. and YES book any and ALL table service early. It is very hard if not almost impossible to get a walk up. and if you can it will be a crazy wait. I have kids around same age - they would never be able to sit in a resturant and wait an hour and half to sit down and eat.
