Stroller for 2 kids - your thoughts
Hello all,
Currently we have two strollers: 1. https://www.mybabyhk.com/product_photo/1tlq3ms50618ufdcc1.jpg This is the heavier duty one 2. http://www.newbornbabyzone.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/peg-pereqo-centro-completo-2007.jpg this is the lightweight one - well it looks similar to that one.
DD is 19 months and DS is coming in February. We're not sure what to do when DS comes along. We live in Manhattan
I went to BuyBuyBaby and looked at some strollers and this is what I thought: 1. Side by side - way too wide. not sure how someone can manuever this around. 2. One in front of another - the kid in front seems so far away. plus can't really see them 3. the skateboard that connects to the stroller (so the kid is between the stroller and the parent) - seems a bit dangerous. nothing is stopping the kid from jumping off
what are you thoughts on Side by Side vs One in front vs any other type.
edit - I have seen on the street one kid on top of another...that might be ok, but the kid on the bottom seems very low (like driving a low car, won't the bottom get bumped/scraped all the time?)
Right now we're thinking of justing using our stoller with DD and carry DS in a carrier.

I have both tandem and side by side. I hated the tandem one. I ove the Joovy x2 and it fits through standard doorways. It's actually no wider than a wheelchair.

I prefer the side by side. I've never really had an issue maneuvering it through doorways. I'm not a fan of some tandem seats like the city select (I think) where one seat is low to the ground.
My oldest is 22 months and wouldn't use a sit and stand with her. Maybe if she was older than 3.

I have a city mini gt side by side. I live in Manhattan too and it has never been a problem. I like it because it is easy to push with one hand, plus I can fold it if I need to. Also, it reclines flat so I used it pretty much from newborn without a car seat.

I have a Brotax side by side stroller that has been rarely used. It was purchsed in April of 2015. Im actually looking to get rid of it if you are interested.

We have the city mini double and love it. We don't live in the city though. It does fit through all standard door ways, but I have heard of people who purchased it not realizing it wouldn't fit through their apartment door, which made it very cumbersome. It had to be folded to fit through the door so the kids could never be wheeled in or out. Just something to keep in mind before you decide.
