If you DS is doing well in the crib I would just leave him. We moved DS a few months after he turned 2 but that was only because he was climbing out.

We switched DD from crib to twin bed last month, she turned 2 in Aug. She wasn't sleeping through the night in her crib anymore and preferred to be in our bed so we made the switch. It's been great for us. I had hoped she'd stay in her crib much longer, but it just wasn't working for us anymore. If I were you, I would leave it the way it is.
