Miami with Kids
Trying to decide if we should go to Miami with DH in early February. DS has a long weekend. DH has a 2 day conference. We could extend and make it a 4 day weekend or DH could just go solo for 1.5 days.
Would you go to Miami with the kids? What is there to do with the kids?
I would be solo with 4yo and 6yo boys for 2 of the days.

Pool, beach, children's museum. There is a huge aquarium, a zoo. I think there is plenty.

Jungle Island looks like a lot of fun. So does Monkey Jungle. We only have 2 days.

Re: Miami with Kids
I wouldn't. I didn't find Miami to be kid friendly AT ALL!

I agree. I always went to Miami with my friends. It's more of a party town opposed to kid friendly.

I think you CAN go with the kids - but to me, it's like Vegas ......it's not a place I'd really WANT to be w/ the kids.

Right. While i wouldn't choose that as a vacation spot with DD, if I were in your situation where DH was going for work and I had the chance to go along with the kids, I'd certainly make the best of it. I'd never say no to Miami!

DS's BFF's dad also had a conference at the exact same weekend so we ended up going. We had a lot of fun despite it being chilly and windy. It was basically a long play date in Miami. DS made the word "roomdate" up because we took turns playing in one another's hotel rooms. I had really good paella and walked around Lincoln and Ocean Dr.
I had all these places we were going to check out but we didn't go to any of them. Jungle Island. Seaquarium. Children's Museum. Science Museum.
I recognized some bars and places I partied at back in the day. What a lifetime ago that was.
