Pediatric Healthcare of LI patients - no more Dr. Lanzillotta

Now that Dr. Lanzillotta is no longer with the practice, is everyone staying, finding a different practice, following her to Huntington, waiting it out to see?

I'm torn. I usually only saw her for well visits for my 3 kids. We've been there for years. She always remembered everything I felt. The few times we did see someone else I felt like it was "cold" and monotone. I've had a couple of miss diagnosis with one of the other dr's there (minor things really, but still annoying)

I'm due with Chat Icon the end if June (if you're one of the few who know me IRL, we're not out on FB) and I don't know if I should look to start with a different practice for the baby and then transfer my other 3 over.

I also am not a fan of some of the other doctors, so I am torn. You mentioned that she is going to Huntington. Is she going to another practice? I thought she was leaving to take care of her children.

The original email said that. But then another one was sent on 12/18-

Dr. Lanzillotta just informed us that after Jan 1, 2016 she will be working at the following practice:

Huntington Pediatrics East Main
205 Main St Huntington, N.Y.
Suite 2-8
631-424-1741

I'm glad I'm not the only one torn about this. I have a feeling the practice is going to go down now that she isn't there.

I'm really upset that she left. I'm not really a fan of some of the other doctors in the practice. She cared so much about the kids.

I'm not following her to Huntington as her hours there will be unrealistic for my schedule.

I've made appointments with a few other doctors in the practice to see how they are.

They lost a real asset to the practice

FTM here--- was thinking of using them as my pediatrician (i thought they got good reviews on here) but now seeing this, I'm wondering if I should continue looking since none of you seem so happy with the practice other than Dr. Lanzillotta. Not sure what to do now.....

We really liked her, but I won't follow her to Huntington. We're staying with the practice. I have no complaints about the other doctors. I do agree though that some of the other ones have dry personalities, but that's fine for me. My DD really only goes two or three times a year (if she's sick).

I live walking distance to pediatric healthcare of LI but we use dr Lippmann and Dr rosenbloom on merrick Rd in Baldwin. Very personal attention. Sometimes I wish I went to one of the closer practices but we love both doctors.

I happen to love dr. Aranda so I will be staying with the practice.

Reading between the lines, I think lanzilotta just wanted more of a part-time position. She practically ran the bellmore office and the practice probably couldn't work around a lesser hour schedule.

I happened to be in the office on her last day as she said good-bye's. It definitely seemed like she is maintaining personal relationships with the doctors who were also in th office that day. It was all very heartfelt.

She definitely held that office together. And for them to voluntarily send an email to all of their patients with where she moved to shows that they aren't bitter about it.

Dr Aranda is great, she doesn't have very many hours though does she?

Brooke 23 - she is an amazing dr. They all are good, but I just felt the most comfortable with her.

I will probably stay for now and see what happens. I'm more worried about changing then I am about staying at this point.

I thought the same thing too, that she wanted to go part time and they couldn't accomodate her. She was always in the office. I thought it was very professional of them to pass along her new info.

I would meet with them before deciding... I think most of us are saying that there is one Dr in the practice who has a very dry personality. He is very knowledgeable, but not an amazing people person.

Dr. Lanzilotta happened to be amazing. She went above and beyond. I was comfortable with her, but am not switching for my two kids.

How are wait times at the office? Which other doctors there would you recommend? I know I just posted that I really like my pediatrician but I just waited there an hour and a half for a well visit. I understand there were a lot of sick visits, but they shouldn't have scheduled so many so close together. There is only doctor usually at a time.

I have never waited more than 15 minutes
