gift reviews
how about we start a thread where we share the great gifts we gave and/or received.
being that v-day is around the corner, this could help us gather ideas on what to give our loved ones in the next six weeks.
SO is a big football fan. i got him a framed poster of the US with all NFL stadiums marked. we will then visit each stadium (one per year) until we visit them all.
the etsy vendor i got the framed poster (you can get it unframed) is HERE
the gift was a HUGE HIT. before i even finished cleaning up all the wrapping paper, SO had put the framed poster up on the wall. and he spend ALL WEEKEND telling everyone all about it. he was very excited and said he had never received a gift where someone put thought and effort into knowing him.
i'm so happy!!!
what were your hits?

I had shown DH a pic of an inexpensive ($65) necklace that I liked. He had it custom made in 14k gold and real diamonds! I was floored - he's not usually very good at picking out gifts (well, he's good at buying from the list I give him lol, but not usually at coming up with his own ideas). Definitely a big hit!
For DH I made something that he loved - he was honored at a 9/11 ceremony OOS this year. There were news paper articles and he recieved several tokens of the events he attended. I took the pics, news headlines and different memorabilia and made a framed display of it all. He really loved it.
DH also loved the turntable I got him, along with a "thing" that will allow it to play through our SONOS speakers

Re: gift reviews
I got DH a few things but his favorite was tickets to see Bill Burr (comedian) at Foxwoods in February. We're going to stay overnight and have a little getaway without the kiddies.
I LOVE to cook so I got a few new things for my kitchen. The Bobby Flay brunch cookbook, The Everyday Baker cookbook, a new chefs knife, French rolling pin, tart pan, Le Creuset mini pot, Imperia Pasta maker machine, pastry/ravioli cutter, pasta drying rack, and a flat whisk. I'm in heaven!!!!! lolol
